A warm welcome

I first discovered Marblehead 12 years ago, after my first son was born. It was July 1996, the perfect month to be on maternity leave and enjoying young motherhood in the warm summer breeze.

My mother and I spent many a day that summer on Devereux Beach, with newborn Nick lounging in his "Happy Cabana" pack-and-play. We'd eat lunch at Flynnie's, push the stroller through Old Town, and treat ourselves to relaxing drives through the Neck, admiring the gorgeous homes and their blue water views.

I have always felt at home in Marblehead, and now, 12 years later, feel at home once again. I have received another warm welcome from the community — this time as we bring to you a new magazine dedicated to all things Marblehead — the people, the places, and personalities. I have made many new friends, and have become reacquainted with many old friends. You've all been more than generous with guidance and suggestions as I ask for your help in making this magazine your own. You've told me you want profiles about your neighbors, features about your businesses, news about trends in town, quality photos that discerning 'Headers will appreciate.

I do invite continued feedback, and hope for a page of readers' letters in our next edition, due out in September. Please email me at kandreas@marbleheadhomeandstyle.com.

I sincerely hope you enjoy this magazine as much as I enjoy your lovely town.

Welcome home, to your Marblehead Home and Style magazine.
